Wow, she really is wonderful! Incredibly musical, gorgeous bel canto line! According to her bio, she has already performed a lot with Gergiev, but this seems to be her first venture into Rossini. Amazing!
Viel Freude dabei! youtu.be/08PTQvEvoIg
Applauswogen.“ www.augsburger-allgemeine.de/augsburg/kultur/Konzerte-in-Augsburg-Domsingknaben-und-Fialkowska-Sp...
JANINA FIALKOWSKA - "One of the Grandes Dames of the piano" (FAZ) returned to the concert stage with celebrated concerts in July!
Her highly acclaimed recitals in Rostock and Weimar with works by Schubert, Sibelius, Chopin and von Weber as well as a magnificent performance of Beethoven’s 4th piano concerto in Augsburg were met with standing ovations.
The Canadian pianist residing in southern Germany also gave master classes at the music academies in Weimar and Rostock where students were fortunate and grateful to be able to draw on the extensive pianistic experience and artistic sources of Arthur Rubinstein's last pupil.
We invite you to a recently published conversation with Carsten Dürer, which Janina gave in German for “Piano News”, in which she talks about her exciting artistic life. Enjoy! youtu.be/08PTQvEvoIg
Augsburger Allgemeine, July 26th, 21: "Top class … Janina Fialkowska turned Beethoven’s piano concerto No. 4 into an exceptional event ... Janina Fialkowska made the organic structure of the music fully comprehensible, by making each further development plausible and thus creating a convincing event ... Her basic approach is quite powerful and gripping, allowing her to fall back even more effectively into fine and poetic phases ...In this way the fireworks of chromatic scales and outbursts of trills, technically glistening-brilliantly realized in combination with lyrical sections creates a pulsating landscape of sound ... Waves of applause. ... See MoreSee Less

Michailidis' new production of "Norma" at Sweden's Göteborg Opera (originally planned for March this year) has now been rescheduled for 2022. A further adjustment to the pandemic, his premiere of Puccini’s "Manon Lescaut" production at Erfurt Opera is now scheduled for October 2, 2021.

Dear friends! Whilst we are slowly beginning to transition into what some call a “new normal”, our classical music world continues to suffer under the complete standstill and the many uncertainties around a reopening of public performances. Fortunately, there are now some efforts towards slowly performing again at several theaters and festivals. Let us all hope that this autumn can bring the full relaunch of live performances and concerts everywhere. Needless to say, this is a particularly challenging time for artists whose scheduled performances were simply wiped off the calendar, many of whom have suddenly been left without any financial income. State subsidies for artists have been discussed and announced by several governments - some more generous than others and others in turn so complicated to apply for that a number of artists have held back from even applying at all. Unfortunately, in view of the differing measures and restrictions from various governments we are all left quite powerless. While these restrictions are meant to protect our physical well-being, we must however also ensure that music and the arts - the food for our soul - remain alive as well. It is heartwarming to see the wonderfully creative efforts by so many artists in keeping music thriving through streaming! But we all know that the live, in-person audience experience as well as the artist’s own direct performance to an audience can never be replaced and that it is something that we all yearn for again. Today we would like to share this small video with you with clips from some of our dear artist friends. It is our brief, multinational message of encouragement to the many artists out there who are anxiously awaiting the end of this period so that they may again pursue what they love and do best - performing music – an essence and not a luxury! A huge THANK YOU to all who have participated in this video message!! We hope you will enjoy watching it and wish all of you to keep going and stay strong and positive! Even if it is hard at times, make the best of this difficult period. Sooner or later, this too shall pass! (well, better sooner than later…) ... See MoreSee Less
