Diana Mian is a prize winner of various national and international competitions such as “Città di Brescia”, “Giovan Battista Velluti” in Riviera del Brenta, the International Singing Competition “Iris Adami Corradetti” in Padua, Italy, “Ferruccio Tagliavini” in Deutschlandsberg, Austria, as well as at the “Giuseppe Di Stefano” competition in Trapani, Italy.
The Italian soprano made her opera debut as Fiordiligi in “Così fan tutte”” and Serpina in La serva padrona” with As.Li.Co. in Milan. She subsequently performed Juliette in “Roméo et Juliette” at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Zerlina in “Don Giovanni” at the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, Carolina in “Il matrimonio segreto” in Ankara, Izmir, Istanbul and Prague. She further sang Musetta in “La Bohème” at Teatro Verdi in Sassari, Serafina in “Il Campanello”, Norina in “Don Pasquale” and Adina in “L’Elisir D’Amore” at Teatro Donizetti Bergamo and Tokyo.
Her natural development towards a more dramatic vocal dimension allowed her to debut, with grest success, as Elvira in Ernani by G. Verdi in Pordenone, Italy. Furthermore, she sang Desdemona in Otello at Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna, Lucieta in Il Campiello at the Teatro Malibran Venice, Teatro Sociale Rovigo and the Teatro dell’Opera in Florence.Further roles followed: Contessa in Le Nozze di Figaro at Palau de Les Arts in Valencia (Spain), at the Teatro Regio Turin, in Hungary and for the Piccolo Opera Festival FVG (Italy),Second Maid in Die Zauberflöte at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna (Italy), Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni at the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania, Teatro Nuovo Giovanni in Udine, in Villa Manin, at the S. Giusto’s Castle in Trieste, Mimi in La Bohème at the Bolshoi Theatre in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) and in Lecco.
She also sang Hanna Glawari in Lehàr’s “Die lustige Witwe” in Porcia, Italy, Anna Kennedy in “Maria Stuarda” at the Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo, at Teatro Sociale in Rovigo, Teatro Comunale in Florence and the Filarmonico in Verona (opposite Mariella Devia). Moreover, she performed at the Belcanto Opera Festival “Rossini in Wildbad” as Bettly in “Le Chalet”, and Fatima in “Ricciardo e Zoraide”, and arias from Rossini’s William Tell in a concert titled “The Other Tell”.
In addition to her operatic activities she also has a broad concert repertoire including Exultate Jubilate, “Vesperae Solemnes” and the Requiem by Mozart, “Stabat Mater” by Haydn, “Gloria”, “Dixit Dominus” and “Lauda Jerusalem” by Vivaldi, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” by Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana”, “Resurrection of Christ” by L. Perosi as well as “Misa Criolla” by Ramirez and “A little Jazz Mass” by Bob Chilcott.
Together with the Trio di Trieste and Michael Flaksman she won 1st prize at the chamber music festival “Youth for Youth” in Ravenna and the 1st prize at the «Lilian Caraian» contest in Trieste.
